VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


Visitor Services/Greeter

Lake Eustis Museum of Art is open Tuesday - Friday, 10am - 4 pm and Saturday & Sunday noon -  4.

Responsibilities:

Welcome visitors, field phone calls, answer questions and provide information about exhibitions, programs, membership, sponsorship and activities. Ensure that visitors have a positive experience.

Requirements:

·       Enjoy interacting with the public in a positive, professional manner

·       Communicate clearly and effectively with staff, volunteers and visitors

·       Attend training session offered by the art museum

Minimum Commitment:

·       Two four-hour shifts per month; weekly shifts preferred

·       Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m.  - 4 pm; Saturday & Sunday noon - 4

Exhibition Openings & Misc. Events

Need volunteers in good physical condition to help hang and take down exhibits on an as needed basis for each exhibit installation

Lake Eustis Museum of Art  introduces each new exhibit with an evening opening and artist's talk with

wine and light hors d'eourves.

Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome Museum visitors, pass out programs, assist featured artist, track attendance, take surveys, help in gallery set up prior to event and clean up post event. Ensure that all visitors have a positive and enjoyable experience.

Requirements:

·       Enjoy interacting with the public in a positive, professional manner

·       Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, volunteers and visitors

·       Ability to comfortably stand for a few hours

Minimum Commitment:

·       Three hour appointment; Friday 6 - 9 p.m. (usually, please refer to exhibition schedule)

·       As needed per event (sometimes on other days and at other times)


Bulk Mailings

 Lake Eustis Museum of Art sends out bulk mailings for member-related materials, sponsorship opportunities, press releases, public service announcements, etc.

Responsibilities:

Assist Museum staff by preparing mailings including folding letters, stuffing and sealing envelopes, affixing mailing labels and postage, dropping off mail at post office.

Requirements:

·       Ability to focus and work neatly and efficiently

·       Strong organization skills

Minimum Commitment:

·       As needed basis


 

Materials Distribution

Frequently, the Lake Eustis Museum of Art distributes promotional collateral (flyers, posters, bookmarks, rack cards, etc.) to a variety of local businesses and organizations.

Responsibilities:

Counting, separating, organizing, and delivering materials in person.

Requirements:

·       Ability to focus and work neatly and efficiently

·       Strong organization skills

·        Personable

Minimum Commitment:

·       As needed basis


 


Membership Team

The Lake Eustis Museum of Art relies heavily on the support of its Members.  It is vital that we recruit and retain new Members.

Responsibilities:

Assist Museum staff in the management of its Membership by entering information in the Membership database, contacting Members when Membership has lapsed, etc.

Requirements:

·       Enjoy interacting with Members and staff in a positive, professional manner

·       Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

·       Ability to focus and work neatly and efficiently

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or Access

·       Strong organization skills

Minimum Commitment:

·       Two shifts per month; weekly shifts preferred



Museum School Assistant

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Executive Director and  course teacher.  Help with registration process, class set up, and clean up.  Substitute for the teacher if he/she is unable to make a class or notify the class with any schedule updates.

Requirements:

·       Enjoy interacting with staff  and students in a positive, professional manner

·       Excellent communication skills

·       Interest or knowledge of art education

·       The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all ages

·       Ability to comfortably stand for a few hours

 Minimum Commitment:
         ·        Present at on-going classes






Cleaning

The Lake Eustis Museum of Art seeks a volunteer to maintain the beauty of the facility by providing a cleaning regimen.

Responsibilities:

Beautify the interior of the Museum by providing cleaning services such as sweeping, vacuuming,   disinfecting, dusting, etc.

Requirements:

·       Ability to comfortably work in vigorous positions

·       Neatness, cleanliness

Minimum Commitment:
         ·       Once a week


Painting

The Lake Eustis Museum of Art seeks volunteers to assist in painting the interior gallery walls.

Responsibilities:

Painting the gallery walls as directed for regular beautification and with each new exhibition to flatter the artwork.

Requirements:

·       Ability to comfortably work in vigorous positions

·       Ability to work on ladders

·       Ability to work around paint

·       Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

·       Attention to detail

·       As needed
